the transducer to the sea bed.

Danfoss refrig compressors still making radio noise ?30 Jun 2007 00:55 GMT5
Some years ago there were a lot of comments about 12 VDC refrig
systems running Danfoss compressors making a lot of RF noise and
interferring with Ham, SSB, WFAX, etc reception.  Anybody know if this
is still true?
Has this ever happened to you?29 Jun 2007 22:34 GMT1

trees in to the bargain!

Has anyone here converted your boats engine over to burn bio-fuels?
The smell of french fry, or duncan doughnuts exhaust fumes sure would
be nicer than diesel.
Here in Houston we have a dealer than will deliver and it's cheaper

Coastal charts26 Jun 2007 20:36 GMT6
I haven't been on a boat in a while but, to celebrate his safe return
from Iraq, my son and I will take a week-long charter (C&C30) this
summer from Boston to the Vineyard. So I naturally went to Bliss
Marine for charts. But there are no charts, not the familiar kind that
Right of way?26 Jun 2007 16:11 GMT33
Now I know how the large commercial operators must feel some times.
I was motoring at five knots when a jet ski came roaring across my bow from
starboard at about full speed for those things.  As he went by at 30 knots,
he screamed, "You %$#@* (reproductive reference) (feminine ...

Global warming physics again24 Jun 2007 05:58 GMT20
If you have to wear an oxygen mask at high altitudes because oxygen
(32) is heavier than other gases that make up our air (28), then how
does co2 get into the stratosphere and cause a warming blanket when co2
(44) is much heavier than oxygen?
Tool Box on board .. what goes in the box23 Jun 2007 03:59 GMT52
I was taking a look at my tool box today and trying to decide what to take
on board.
If you carry a tool box, could you tell what tools go in the box.
Houston-Seabrook area - need marina info22 Jun 2007 23:34 GMT16
We have decided to bite the big salt bullet and head down to the Gulf

We are concentrating on the Seabrook - Clear Lake - Kemah area - maybe

Sailing instruments - need new one - recommendations?22 Jun 2007 19:52 GMT11
My old Signets are tired after 31 years. Looking for new ones -
Important - very reliable (never need repairs) - inexpensive - long
lasting.  Not important - integrated - networked - laptop connected -
autopilot connected.  No racer, geek, dreamer stuff needed.
Kirie 41Di Lift-keel22 Jun 2007 14:19 GMT2
Because I sail in the Chesapeake, ultra shallow draft appeals to me (I
like to park in the corners!).  I'm considering the purchase of a
Kirie 41 lifting keel (really a heavily ballasted centerboard boat),
but I'm having trouble finding information on their stability rating,
Race Week in Dallas!22 Jun 2007 06:23 GMT2
It's race week in Dallas and the boats are indeed flying.
These guys are really serious!
Dorothy counted 49 starters - we made it 50 sail out on the lake.
We went out this evening "crusing" (on topic!) inside the race course -
