How tough is it to replace the alternator belt on my Merc I/O. It looked
simple but then I realized it was impossible to get ytuhen new belt
around the main pulley.

I understand you're a vintage MB advocate. There's a '76 240D here for
$2000. 240k miles. Power nothing. A/C. Automatic. Good tires. Brakes
ok. Body ok. Plain vanilla interior. Never been rebuilt.

I've got a Carver 530 with twin Cummin and a Twin Disk transmission throttle
unit. This generally works fine except that I had a damaged S/B throttle
cable replaces in May. Configuration is certainly workable in the short
term. However, I'd like to find somebody on the Atlantic ...

Poor Bruce P. has fallen into the trap of moving up in his choice of

I recently purchased a 30 odd year old hartley queenslander ferro
cement sloop. I love it and so does my family and friends. Its a funny
old thing, everything works, but all the know alls who own boats built
of other materials look down their noses and all have some anecdotal
