How about a spirited, yet polite discussion of various wind vane systems
currently available?

golf cart battery info request14 Nov 2007 02:24 GMT6
I want to add 2 6-V golf cart batteries for my house system, and
cannot find the ones that Walmart or anyone is selling for less than
$75 dollars.  (I cannot find the $75 ones)
I will only be using for a year (one loop) so have no need of the $400

What Causes Dizziness?
We have all suffered from it at one point or another; the room starts
to spin or one feels strangely light-headed. These symptoms are
commonly known as dizziness. They can be either harmless or a symptom

As the original discussion has wandered a great deal, I'll start a new

We're working our way down the ICW in order to miss Hatteras.  We were

Dear Skip & L:
While bumping around the web I found these words by Dashew. Thought
you might find it interesting.

Would you pull this engine?09 Nov 2007 19:25 GMT19
The Yanmar 2QM20 in my boat runs like a new engine.  Exact maximum RPM wide
open, starts almost instantly, plenty of power so I know it isn't under
propped.  Exhaust smoke is thin and light grey at full power and it is
smoother than I ever thought a two cylinder engine with a two ...

Did you get any type of USCG sticker for your boat for leaving and

I'm pretty sure I can reroute my fuel line so that an electric pump is
unnecessary.  It would be nice to eliminate one possible failure mode that
could rear its head in an awkward spot. However, I'd like to have an
electric pump in the system for priming and bleeding.
ROTFS (aka Gulf Stream) Current GRIB Files07 Nov 2007 19:09 GMT2
I've just noted that the latest beta version of SailMail (aka AirMail)
supports ROTFS GRIB files.  These provide predictions for the Gulf Stream
and other currents showing the direction, rate and temperature for up to 72
hours in advance.
Another ULSD opinion07 Nov 2007 18:59 GMT5
I stopped in at a non marine diesel place that deals with Yanmar tractors
and other on and off road land based stuff on the theory that they have been
dealing with ULSD longer than the marine outfits.  They may also be more
grounded in the real world not having to deal primarily ...
