| BlueJacket Sailing Logs Available Via RSS | 30 Apr 2008 04:05 GMT | 6 |
I must admit that I'm not a big fan of posting trip logs to r.b.c as if everyone did it, the forum would be filled up with logs. A forum such as r.b.c.logs would be appropriate... I'm also not a big fan of e-mail logs, especially those where you can't

| Floating dock on exposed water | 29 Apr 2008 18:00 GMT | 9 |
This is something that I toyed with in the past, so I may have asked a similar question in the past. I want to build a floating dock about 7 feet by 14 feet and locate it beside a seawall fronting a body of water with a fetch of up to eight miles. It

| Windvane steering | 28 Apr 2008 11:59 GMT | 9 |
I'm looking hard at windvane steering. I know Roger likes the Cape Horn but I seriously wonder how you replace a broken control line standing on your head in the middle of a storm. The Monitor and Fleming take up too much space on the stern.

| You make a statement. | 27 Apr 2008 22:51 GMT | 16 |
You make a statement when you run a portable generator in an anchorage. As a matter of fact you make at least half a dozen statements: 1) My 120 volt frivolities are more important than your peace and quiet. 2) My unnecessary noise-making is more important than your enjoying the

| Upcoming Trip | 27 Apr 2008 10:59 GMT | 6 |
I am planning a trip from Annapolis to Jacksonville, Fl. Having not done this trip in the past, I was wondering about the pros and cons of going outside from Norfolk to Jacksonville versus going down the ICW thru Albermarle and Pamilco to Beaufort, NC and then out to

| Idiot yachtsman | 26 Apr 2008 19:48 GMT | 7 |
This morning on Norwegian TV they have shown the most stupid action by a yacht skipper I have ever seen. The world's largest cruise line has been in Oslo and was under way in the channel going back out, with the city still in sight behind.

| Stability forces | 26 Apr 2008 19:18 GMT | 47 |
Escaping from the mess down below where Tom asked about buoyancy: Gravity is a real force, one of the most basic in the universe. When you observe its effects, you are seeing the actual shape of the space/time fabric of the universe and the way matter interacts with it.

| masthead pictures | 26 Apr 2008 18:43 GMT | 18 |
Most sailors take their equipment maintenance very seriously. I know I do. One place that's infrequently visited is the masthead, and I'm wondering if you have any pictures of this vital area of your standing rigging. The last time I had someone go aloft (sorry, I'm not ...
