I have a bunch of folding mast steps - the kind made from 2 cast alum pieces. I took them off the mast before I repainted it with LP - now I'd like to clean them up and put them back. They're uncoated alum so have a white powdery dusty feel to them now. What to do with them ??

I need to make a hatch frame that involves some complex curved rabbets and am thinking of using Star Board so as not to wind up with more wood trim that needs re-finishing. How easily does Star Board work with a chisel, planes, and similar hand

The sediment bowl on the Shelco filter I put in for my fuel polishing (or Pre-filtering, whatever you want to call it) system doesn't drain completely. I took it out of the boat today, poured off the fuel (Not a drop of water BTW), and scraped out the stuff in the bottom:

Flying Pig will depart St. Simons Island, GA Frederica Bridge area approximately noon Sunday November 16 for Miami Yacht Club basin. Course will be approximately 62 degrees to the Cape Canaveral area, after which we will stick close to the coast to avoid the Gulf Stream.

Skippy's SPOT stopped giving positions a couple hours ago. Last known position between Vero Beach and Ft. Pierce about 10 miles offshore. Wilbur Hubbard
