GPS/Fishfinder.  Garmin or Raymarine?29 Feb 2004 09:02 GMT3
I am shopping for a color chartplotter/sounder combo.  I think I've narrowed
my list down to Garmin's 188C and Raymarine's 7" (L 760CRC) and 10"
(L1260CRC).  Obviously the price varies with the size of the screen but I
was wondering if anyone out there could recommend one and why.  ...
Navico PH-8000 Autopilot26 Feb 2004 00:26 GMT2
First don't tell me to talk to Simrad as the local distributor doesn't
own up to knowing anything about this autopilot.
I have a Navico PH-8000 power pilot on my 37' Jeanneau Sun Odyssey. The
drive is hydraulic and steering is cable driven. My problem is that the
Cheap AGM Batteries in Charlotte NC25 Feb 2004 22:16 GMT2
If you're not too far from Charlotte NC and want an AGM battery real
cheap, you might be interested in this.  These are Dynasty batteries
out of UPS systems at a local bank.  I *KNOW* these are not marine
batteries, but for the capacity and price, some folks out there might
Extending wire leads on Flux gate sensor25 Feb 2004 14:09 GMT2
I'm installing a Autohelm auto pilot which has a remotely located. The
recommendation is a location that is low and near the center of motion.
However, the cable lead is only 25ft long. That's about 15ft short of what I
will need to reach the ideal area (mid ship).
autohelm 30025 Feb 2004 10:57 GMT2
my autohelm 3000  compass died recently. I took the control unit apart and
found three copper wires which act as brushes to send signals to the compass
unit. In my unit these wires are loose, are they suppose to be loose??? It
looks like they should be soldered to the printed ...
DC rated rocker switches?24 Feb 2004 08:13 GMT1
I think I know the answer to this but I would like some other opinions:
I am trying to select some sealed DC rated miniature rocker switches to
be used as manual overrides for my remote digital DC lighting system.
Real estate at the nav station is limited so the circuit is SMT ...

I am thinking about getting an underwater camera to attach to the
downrigger ball. Aqua-vu seems like a decent choice (model SV or MC w/
120 ft cable). Does anyone have any experience trolling w/ this
system?

Howdy,
I'm looking for an idea on how to create or buy a cable that will link
the Garmin 162 to the Icom 402.  This will maximize the DSC feature of
the radio.
Cheapest Online for Navman 6600?21 Feb 2004 04:06 GMT1
Any recommendation for the cheapest online site to buy a Navman 6600 without
map, with transom mount transducer and fuel sender?
One that will ship over to Australia would be handy.
ICOM M802 Experiences20 Feb 2004 19:27 GMT7
I know there have been a few posts regarding this radio but I need some
real user experience with this radio. The good , the bad and the ugly!
Specifically ease of use, reliability and ease of use as an amateur
radio solution. Most commercial marine boxes seem to be a bit kludgey

I've got a two year old house bank of two Group 27B's. (the 27B's are
supposed to be a little bit better than a plain Group 27) Last summer
they seemed to loose their ability to keep my refrigerator and anchor
light working as long as they used to and I'm wondering if they are ...
