internet onboard18 Oct 2006 16:27 GMT9
I'm looking for any information on how to go about getting full internet
capabilities on board. I've researched some of the various ways from the
wifi setup to the expensive dishes made solely for satelite internet but
don't know the pluses and minus's of them. Do most marina's ...
Senator Carl Marcellino - stance on local sailing issues ?17 Oct 2006 17:54 GMT5
Strictly speaking on the environment and sailing issues, does anyone
know if he is for or against allowing the local marina to expand?  I
know he was part of getting the water front in oyster bay upgraded, but
that project does not seem to have helped the local marina and marine
Overspeed alarm based on alternator frequency16 Oct 2006 20:07 GMT19
My engine panel overspeed alarm is driven by the freq output from the
alternator from the AC taps.  The overspeed alarm goes off when the

Raymarine Autopilot does not handle my a-spinnaker14 Oct 2006 14:33 GMT12
With my a-spinnaker up in  6 knots of breeze I have no problem with my
autopilot, but when I went out yesterday in 15 knots, my autopilot was
not assertive enough to control the boat.
When I set it to keep the 120 degrees off the wind, it completly failed

Static on FM Radio10 Oct 2006 19:47 GMT10
I've got excessive static on my FM radio, and discovered it's my

wonder if anyone knows how to suppress that noise.
Also, my refrigerator works on my batteries, and my charger charges
EU2000i polarity09 Oct 2006 15:35 GMT4
I use a Honda 2000 watt inverter generator on my boat to occaisionally
charge batteries. The boat stays on a mooring so I have no access to
shore power. The generator hooks up to the boats shore power plug and AC
panel then to an AC charger. The panel has a reverse polarity light and
The great wire trace rant.08 Oct 2006 17:52 GMT13
AAAaaaarrrg!
Installing a new bilge pump I have found no less than 4 sets of wires that
are just cut amidships. The battery charger wires were just shoved into ring
terminals but not crimped. A single  black wire w/o terminal attached to a
