Raymarine ST1000 Plus Autopilot25 Feb 2007 18:46 GMT8
I would like to control my Raymarine ST1000 Plus Autopilot, somehow
from a GPS without use of the internal compass. This would eliminate
the problems of the boat motions affecting the compass.
Is this possible?
New pedestal pod25 Feb 2007 12:13 GMT5
I've been looking at Navpods but they don't fit exactly and I find them
quite expensive. Are they worth the money ? Any better (cheaper)
alternatives ?

I am trying to figure out what I need to do to get my DVD player to play
through the Aux-Input of my in-dash CD/Stereo.  I want to have stereo

I'm about to buy my first GPS for my boat because my LORAN finally died.  I

a depth sounder/fish finder.   I know next to nothing and would appreciate
any help.

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 225 on my boat.  I have a spare antenna for it in my
basement.
I also have a Micrologic ML250 GPS on the upper helm station of my boat.
Recently, the ML250 stopped acquiring the satellites.  I suspect a problem
Online Resource for boat speaker sizes16 Feb 2007 01:08 GMT2
This is proabably a really basic question, but I was wondering if
there is somewhere online I can go to look up my boat's speaker and
radio size? I have found a bunch for vehicles, but nothing for boats.
Thanks in advance.
LCD Monitor 240V -> 12v14 Feb 2007 19:58 GMT5
I just purchased a LCD monitior to use onboard which runs on 240AC.
Is there a way to hard wire a 12dc (I'm assuming the internals use
12v) so that I don't required an inverter?  The monitor is ASUS
pm17tu.
Furuno Radar Problem13 Feb 2007 18:17 GMT27
I have a small Furuno radar where the echo return image is missing on the
left and right portion of the screen. The fore and aft images are fine.
I suspect the "brushes" or slip rings in the scanner unit are worn in the 2
o clock thru 4 o clock and the 8 o clock thru 10 o clock ...

I am thinking of buying a Garmin 76csx Gps and an Icom M422 VHF.  The
Icom will transfer NEMA data to and from the gps for position display
on my or another boat's gps.  Use will be on a sail boat and I'd like
to be able to use the gps at both the helm and in the cabin where the

Auto Pilot Relay Question09 Feb 2007 16:23 GMT7
I have a Robertson/Simrad AP45 pilot currently using mechanical relays to
control the steering pumps. Pumps are 240 VAC not sure of the HP or current,
probably 2 or 5 HP motors.
Is there any reason I can't replace the noisy troublesome mechanical relays
Transformer soft starter09 Feb 2007 13:27 GMT6
Looking to fit a resistor/relay combination in the supply line of a
3600VA 240v isolation transformer.  I reckon the resistor should be 8
ohms - based on 200% loading, but anyone know what wattage  is
required???
