GPS Reciever29 Jun 2007 13:07 GMT4
I have just got the program Sea Clear II. I am very new to this
subject. I am an old school navy guy. All I have ever used is a hand
bearing compass and charts. I ahve downloaded NOAA charts and can

Static and loss of reception29 Jun 2007 01:40 GMT1
The reception on my vhf suffers when I have the fishfinder/sounder
turned on. There is some static and the quality of reception is much
worse than normal. There is no problem when the chartplotter or radar is
running, just the sounder. All electronics are in close proximity to the
add another diode bank for alternator winding on my outboard29 Jun 2007 01:35 GMT5
Can anyone think of any problem with adding another diode bank to my
90hp Merc 2cycle  so that it could charge another different battery?
I assume that the diodes are nothing more than a bridge rectifier
setup so adding another set of diodes would just provide another
gauge fogging28 Jun 2007 00:32 GMT5
Any thoughts on why a Uniden QT206 digital depth display fogs up to
the point of being unreadable?  Has anyone else experienced this?
When the weather is warm and the cabin is open (twice this season, so

Can Minn Cota motor work without electronic?26 Jun 2007 21:13 GMT4
My Minn Cota outboard electric motor's electronic box "kaput".  Do anybody knows, is it possible connect 12 V directly to the motor for it will work on full speed, or electronic circuit is more complex than simply regulate the voltage and motor will not work without this box?

EN3 type.

Today we hauled our boat, and I noted the prop appears to have some
electrolysis or other corrosion stress to it.  The prop is 2 years
old, Bronze on a SS shaft.  When hauled, its color is ink black and it

Adding bank to existing setup?21 Jun 2007 18:09 GMT4
I'd like to add a second battery to my existing three battery setup.
Actually it'd be two 6v golf cart batteries wired in series, to be added to
the ships system circuit.  I've got a Charles 30 amp AC charger that has 3
circuits; one to each existing battery.  There are two ...

AC wiring question - identifying neutral wire12 Jun 2007 16:49 GMT36
My boat has non-standard color coding on the AC wiring, typically all
