SmartCraft to NMEA2000 bridge?31 Jul 2007 02:12 GMT1
My navigation is all NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 fortunately. It would also
allow for display of the vital machine data in a nice overview screen.
Now my machines are Mercury, and unfortunately not NMEA2000 but
SmartCraft.

Battery Charger and Wire Guage27 Jul 2007 23:37 GMT2
I recently bought a new battery charger.  Even though the specs called for
12 guage, I installed oversized 10 AWG wire to the AGM batteries (one
battery on each of 2 banks) when I installed the charger.  When I crimped
the fuses into the cables at the + battery terminals, all I ...

Need slow-speed speedometer25 Jul 2007 21:12 GMT4
Newbie here. If I should be somewhere else, please let me know.
A couple years ago, I bought a pontoon boat. We chug around our lake
with it, and love it. I would like to add a speedometer. I've searched
around, and most boat speedometers cover a range of 0-60 mph, 0-70 mph,
Raymarine Gyro25 Jul 2007 11:46 GMT6
Has anyone in this NG experience with the Raymarine Gyroplus Yaw Sensor,
used with the older model 100 course computer? Is it worth while, i.e. is
there a significant performance improvement?

Battery volts24 Jul 2007 18:00 GMT2
Hi, just checked out my battery bank and noticed one AGM.4D battery ha
a bad cell, only holding 10 volts after a long charge. ( this is a ban
of (four)  12 volts in series for 24 volt system).  All others are i
good shape. Should I be concerned with drainage to other batteries ?

Dimming compass, stereo etc on Sea Ray boat16 Jul 2007 14:06 GMT5
I find some of the lights on a Sea Ray boat (2006), SmartCraft
instruments etc rather annoyingly bright in the night, especially the
Compass and the stereo remote control.
How can I dim them further, and possibly change the blue (!)

AIS Transponder Antenna Placement15 Jul 2007 22:28 GMT7
I will be pulling my mast and am planning on adding a second VHF antenna
for a dedicated AIS receiver and eventually an AIS transponder.  However,
I'll end up with both of my VHF antennas next to one another.  I suspect
that this isn't a good idea.  Any suggestions as to how to ...

fast these days, as is Sprint and Cingular (Cingular ...
