Does anyone have a document that describes the SeaTalk sentence format?
I've looked for one multiple times in the past, but never have found one.
I do have a document which provides talker-IDs, but nothing past that.

Cabling of chart plotter on a sail boat30 Jan 2008 04:01 GMT7
I've just been out and bought a Garmin GPSMap 545 chart plotter. This comes
with a power/signal cable that is terminated with a unit connector in one
end and fans out to the varoius leads on the other.
I was planning so use it on-board my sailing boat in the north atlantic. It

I have a SX Micro-90 handheld VHF. Reception is good, but battery life
only a few minutes if you start transmitting.
Does anyone know who made these? Is it possible to get new/upgraded
battery packs for them? I'm in the UK.

Block by Subject or Words.

Radar for sailboats10 Jan 2008 06:40 GMT7
Looking at fitting Radar to my Beneteau 361.
I had a JRC 1000 a few years ago.. I liked the low power drain and small
radome.
JRC don't market in the UK anymore so options seem to be Furuno or Furuno?
Koden radars?07 Jan 2008 19:02 GMT18
Anyone know anything about Koden radars?  Koden owns Sitex and is known for
making high end commercial radars but they have a new (to me) line of
recreational units at in a very good price range.  Low end is a 7" color
display with a 2KW radome for a street price around a boat ...

garmin hookup to raymarine autopilot03 Jan 2008 05:33 GMT3
I'm trying to get my Garmin 982 NMEA 183 to talk to my newly installed
Raymarine Pilot.  There are two Garmin NMEA out wires, but one of them
is ground. Since the pilot 'brain' is already grounded, do I need to
attach the ground from the garmin to the ray pilot?  The brain has two
