I´m planning to build a DC block for the SSB ground strap. The article Marine Grounding Systems, http://www.sailmail.com/grounds.htm, discusses how to make this and suggests the type of capacitor to use. It´s the Type X7R Monolithic Ceramic capacitor, 0.15uF, 100 volt.

I purchased a small flexible solar panel from Silicon Solar Inc. Their web site advises that the panel is "perfectly suited as a 12V battery charging solar solution." Just what I need for trickling the 12 volt starting battery for my dinghy. The solar panel produces 7.2v 100 mA.

Can anyone recommend products I should consider that gives me a portable chartplotter/GPS and auto navigation all in one device. I can think of the Garmin 378/478 and the Lowrance Iway 600C. Any thoughts?
