Is there a way to import CAD drawing files (.dwg) into Fugawi?31 May 2008 09:46 GMT7
We've been trying to test Fugawi 4.5 for the navigation system of some
boats we operate here but the problem is, plans used for route are in
dwg format in grid coordinates. Is there a way to import this file
directly to Fugawi or convert it first to a supported format. If
Using insulated backstay for A) Navtex rec. and B) ssb-transc.30 May 2008 01:38 GMT6
Hi ng,
The boat came with a Fastnet Radio FMD55P navtex-receiver, using a
passive antenna: the insulated backstay via a Balun.
Now I installed a ssb transceiver + tuner and connected the tuner to
AUTOHELM 7000 PROBLEM28 May 2008 14:41 GMT8
My autopilot switched from AUTO to STANDBY while out at sea. There was
an alrm sound but in the past when there was a problem, I would get a

Which brand #8-4/0 Lug Crimper?26 May 2008 03:01 GMT4
Well time to start replacing my battery and windlass 2/0 cables. Now

I do not want to get the hammer types.
I saw some Ancor crimpers for about $200. They seemed pretty good.

Tinning copper bar15 May 2008 16:41 GMT11
I have some lengths of cooper bar - 1 inc x 1/2 inch x 5 inch - used
as interconnectors on 2v battery cells.  I wish to tin them and can
either cart them off to an electroplater or tin with solder.  Solder
wire worked fine on a test piece with a blow torch.  My question is
Garmin Micro G-Charts - Is there Another way?14 May 2008 19:18 GMT8

Fuel Gauge/Meter Specs?12 May 2008 12:28 GMT2
People, I want to rig a position sender and meter for a sort-of-custom
situation.
The meter used in electronic fuel level sensing makes sense for me,
but to use with another sender.  I have my choice of these senders, so
Simrad Wind Nav mode05 May 2008 06:10 GMT4
I am evaluating autopilots for my CnC Landfall 48 sailboat, and the
Simrad has a feature not found in other pilots, which they call
WindNav - the ability to steer the boat to an angle of wind with an
eye towards a destination waypoint.  The Simrad will allow you to tack
