| Sprayskirt for Eddyline Nighthawk 16 | 31 Aug 2003 16:08 GMT | 4 |
I ordered my first sea kayak - an Eddyline Nighthawk 16. I'm so excited! It arrives Monday. Any other Nighthawk 16 or Merlin LT paddlers out there? What neoprene sprayskirt do you use? I looked at the Snapdragon sizing chart, which recommended a medium deck size, but couldn't fit it ...

| used kayaks | 29 Aug 2003 22:53 GMT | 2 |
Thanks again for all the help that has been offered here as I look for my first kayak. Based on what has been said today I have decided against an inflatable and decided to purchase a used recreational kayak. At first glance, the term "recreational kayak" made me think of the ...

| Trip Report - A gaggle...a herd...a flock... | 29 Aug 2003 22:33 GMT | 3 |
...what is the proper term for a large group of paddlers? Something alliterative - a pod or pack of paddlers? Or something more boating related - a drift or a brace of paddlers? Maybe a clutter, or an infestation? No, wait; I think "infestation" has already been adopted

My Rival is almost worn out, and since Dagger is no longer making WW canoes, I'm considering a Bell Prodigy. Has anyone ever paddled this boat, or have any first hand knowledge about it? Thanks,

Thanks for all the help everyone has offered with my first kayak purchase. I have decided to go with an inflatable for easy transport and storage (one bedroom apartment). I have narrowed it down to the Sevylor Eskimo and the Advanced Elements

| Canoe & Kayak Scams Kills 1,000 Americans | 27 Aug 2003 00:01 GMT | 16 |
This author believes canoe & kayak manufacturers are liable for the "murder" of 1,000 paddlers because they don't install an "emergeny life raft" on their crafts. What a bunch of BULLSHIT! I can just see a slew of class action lawsuits being filed and this guy being the

| Wrist Pain After Sea Kayak Paddling? | 26 Aug 2003 02:25 GMT | 5 |
I've been a whitewater kayaker for ~15 years and I'm usually out every weekend. I've always used a feathered paddle without any problem. My current feather paddle is 60 degrees. I could never get use to a non-feathered paddle.

| WTB: touring paddle | 25 Aug 2003 12:52 GMT | 1 |
I am in need of a touring paddle. I need it fairly inexpensive, if possible. I don't mind scratches. I'm looking for something with a smaller blade (not necessarily a wing paddle, but not a monster either), and probably in the 220cm length range. Anyone have one?

| Wood Canoe Recommendations? | 25 Aug 2003 04:42 GMT | 2 |
I'm starting research for a wooden canoe as a surprise for my (Canadian-born) wife. I'm thinking 17 feet, wood. I don't mind the maintenance and will store indoors. Intended use is placid lakes in Oregon, a little fishing. Just the two of us on day trips.

| Pamlico 145 | 24 Aug 2003 14:21 GMT | 1 |
After doing some research, one kayak has come to my attention. I would like to know from anyone out there who owns a Pamlico 145 tandem how this kayak is. Does it track well? How good can you paddle it solo? How well does it do with currents, wind, taking it into an
