St. John River (Maine) Canoe/Camping Trip ?31 Dec 2003 00:52 GMT3
Would be most interested in anyones opinions and thoughts on the St. John river
in Maine canoe/camping trip.
Both in general, and if perhaps anyone has done it with the Elderhostle folks.
Interested in how the weather was, since the trips are run in mid May

Finally after a what seemed like forever of shopping and changing my

to give opinions, make suggestions, etc etc etc. John Fereira,

Canoe Camping in SW Britain29 Dec 2003 10:41 GMT5
This coming summer, I would dearly love to do some 2-night (friday/saturday)
canoe camping trips on rivers in the Devon/Cornwall regions. I will be in
Plymouth for some schooling, and will need access to a canoe (Indian-style,
not a kayak), paddling gear, and rivers that can be ...

I've been getting a lot of comments recently about the size of my
paddle blades.  They've been ground down considerably since 1998 and

What is "Lay-Up?"10 Dec 2003 13:34 GMT5
I occasionally come across the phrase "lay-up" when I read about
kayak construction - usually having to do with fiberglass boats.
Typically it is in the context of problems having to do with a
particular boat's "lay-up".
how to get back on an ocean kayak?10 Dec 2003 01:36 GMT18
I have a *real* newbie question here:  I have an ocean kayak, a

Florida marshes.  It is very stable, but should I tip and fall off -
is there a best way to get back on?
