Sad news about a fatality on Stevens Creek.   I'm not familiar with
Stevens Creek.  It's not on the AWA website or in the whitewater
kayaker's "bible" - A Guide to the Whitewater Rivers of Washington, by
Jeff Bennett.
Repair hogging in kevlar hull?29 Jul 2004 23:19 GMT10
I know of an old kevlar racing canoe that's been stored upsidedown on
sawhorses for a decade. It has sagged and now it has a lot of reverse
rocker. Bummer. Can this be corrected? What about storing it right
side up with logs in the center? --JP
Too many paddling web sites...29 Jul 2004 12:04 GMT2
Let's face it: there is too much paddle news on the Internet.
You just need to know where to look and have the time to scan all those
sites. Chances are you don't... No need to miss anything though. Playak
looks at all important sites and presents you lists of all the latest

I've recently started kayaking lessons in the local ponds, and I'm
Advice please: Loon 138 vs. Pamlico 120?28 Jul 2004 02:17 GMT2
I am purchasing my first kayak -- it will be mainly for short trips on flat
water lakes, the ICW, and slow-moving rivers. I want a stable and good-
value boat. I've narrowed down my choices to a used Old Town Loon 138 and a
new Wilderness Systems Pamlico 120, both about the same ...

weights to get some upper body strength. I thought about joining a
