Read a 1940ies canoeing book the other day and saw an advert for paddles
made by F. Collar in Oxford.
Kind of intrigued me, seems wooden paddles are mostly imported into the UK
nowadays, from far away places.

I am thinking about doing a 3-5 day trip on Maryland's Eastern Shore next
summer. Can anyone recommend a particular itinerary?

I'm a recent convert to the occassionally wet world of kayaking. I have
practised wet exits and self rescues, wear a PDF and always carry a
paddle float and bail pump. While most of my rough water experience has
been coastal and always accompanied by at least one other more

Besides the obvious differences $100,day hatch,1"in beam,1'in length,
and 1" cockpit size. How do these boats differ in performance and fit
for someone who is 5'10' and 188lbs?

I am buying my first kayak but have been renting and demoing for a
couple of years. I have narrowed my choices to 3 similar boats. I am

What are the basic first things a person should do if they're
interested in getting manmade play features added to their city's
river?  Raise money to bring in a consultant?  If so, what sort of
consultant?  Get people to sign a petition?  Look for funding?

For those who insist that Bush really has had no different impact on our
