| Racking my kayak | 30 Jun 2005 16:03 GMT | 10 |
What's a good (and not to expensive) way to rack my kayak and my canoe on the wall of my garage? The canoe isn't used much, so it does not need to come on and off of the rack much, but the kayak is used every week so easy on and off is good.

I recently read about using amourall as a UV protectant on rubber hatch covers and on poly-boats instead of 303. Has anyone else heard of this? Any comments? Suggestions? Thanks, Bub

I am working on my photo report from the recent Texas Water Safari 2005. So far, I've selected about 70 pictures shot during the race by me with Pentax Optio WP from the board of my Spencer X-treme canoe and by Connie with Canon PowerShot S40. I am showing some pictures in my ...

| TR in my new Folbot: Carriage Pond | 24 Jun 2005 14:55 GMT | 3 |
One of the advantages of flying from the European or African continents to the US is that the jetlag works in your favor. All week, I've been waking up at the crack of dawn, sometime between 4 and 5am, and feeling totally refreshed and ready for the day. Additionally, the days here ...

| Canoe rack on a truck pulling a 5th wheel? | 24 Jun 2005 03:50 GMT | 3 |
I recently switched from a pickup camper to a 5th wheel type of trailer. I don't want to put the 16 foot canoe on the roof of the brand new trailer, for one thing there are no good attachment points. These links show a canoe mounted above the cab of the truck, extending

| 3 day trip in the Everglades - Need info | 23 Jun 2005 01:12 GMT | 1 |
For all the information I have looked at, I can't find the answer to this one simple question. can the waterways of the Everglades be paddled in both directions? If so, I can understand that it would be best to time the trips with the tides, but is it necessary?

| Cute story: Friend's visit to the dentist | 22 Jun 2005 19:37 GMT | 1 |
A friend, who joined us last summer for our annual Quetico trip, sent this story about his visit to his dentist. Our canoe trip, which ended as the hygienist's trip started, was blessed with no mosquitoes (got down to 30s at night) and beautiful cool weather during the day. The

| Towing another paddler | 22 Jun 2005 18:06 GMT | 16 |
Please direct me to a site that will give info on towing technique. I have a belt pack tow line that I can clip onto someone that I can tow. Is it necessary for them to be able to release too? Is it only viable to clip onto their bow? We tried it amidships and the towed kayak tends

| What do I lose by having a shorter boat? | 22 Jun 2005 11:20 GMT | 59 |
I'm considering a Necky Manitou (12'10") for light weight, seat, looks and price, but I wonder, what would I lose in speed to, say, a Mainstream Biscayne (14'6")? I won't be going all out though, just keeping a medium pace for workout.
