| Prijon Kodiak and Touryak NOT Good?? | 15 Sep 2005 22:38 GMT | 11 |
The local kayak shop doesn't carry these boats and thinks they're not as good for the money as some Daggers and Neckys...I've always read good reviews of both, and have actually done well in the Touryak as a beginner, so what could they possibly be talking about??

Don't Waste My Time..... Lets get something straight. I am a jerk. I am obnoxious. I am lazy. And I don’t care, because I am FILTHY RICH. I am much too important to even be sitting here writing this right now. So I'll keep it short. I make several million dollars every year on the ...

| Just returned from the Yukon River... | 11 Sep 2005 04:35 GMT | 1 |
40 years ago when I was a kid I made a list of lots of outdoor related adventures I wanted to do. While most of my stuff has been climbing or hiking related, I put on that list many years ago "kayak the Yukon River". So last year I got a boat and spent as much time on the water

| Are there Conservative Kayakers? | 09 Sep 2005 14:20 GMT | 38 |
I wonder, you are down there in a humble kayak because you are not a bully, you are at mercy of the elements and you have to use your brain and skill to survive; and you believe in "smaller is better;" and you see the ocean all polluted around you, stuff thrown overboard of

| More beginner questions: cadence and technique | 06 Sep 2005 14:42 GMT | 24 |
Many thanks for the helpful input on my previous questions, so maybe I can ask another one: what makes for a good paddling cadence? I've spent some time looking at the various videos showing the forward stroke at different web sites, and they seem to show a very fast cadence ...

Can anyone recommend a 3 to 4 day canoe trip on the Allagash? We are planning to do it towards the end of August next year. For the past couple of years, we have been paddling the Penobscot from Lobster Lake to Umbazooksus Stream. This is a great trip but we would like a change

| Warding off senility | 05 Sep 2005 07:59 GMT | 19 |
I am going to be 70 years old in October, and I've been a widower for about 1 year. Many years ago, when my children were very young, my family enjoyed camping and lake canoeing. We were out paddling with babies in diapers and while my wife was far along in various

| US canoeing DVDs on Ebay UK | 03 Sep 2005 20:36 GMT | 2 |
No this is not an advert .... I think DVDs may well be the way forward when it comes to observing canoeing skills because you can select scenes very flexibly, quality doesn't degrade as fast over time - much better than video.

| newbie advice on kayak type | 02 Sep 2005 22:35 GMT | 17 |
Hope you folks don't mind newbie questions here. I am a beginning kayaker looking to go out for relatively short (2-3 hours) kayak trips on mostly flat water ponds and lakes. I'm looking to buy a kayak that is stable (as in unlikely to flip over in flat water), easy to maneuver

We are planning a 3 day long canoe trip to the Delaware Water Gap on the weekend of 9-12 Sept (one weekend after the Labor Day). We are concerned that the area might be too crowded and the campsites all full. Does anyone know how true our fears are?
