Hey Mike: got any trips scheduled this summer for Maine? I've kept my entire
summer wide open to spend in the NE in a boat, and so far I only have a
definate Allagash trip planned for the first week in July. If you're in the
New England region with a trip that has space, I know ...
Dagger Catalyst28 Feb 2006 16:11 GMT3
Hey all,
I'm a beginning Kayaker and was wondering if the Catalyst would be a
suitable yak to start with.  I do have some experience in a canoe.  I'll
spend most my time on local rivers and lakes in N central OK and S central
seeking a boat hoist rope crank for kayak27 Feb 2006 16:46 GMT9
I'm building a home made kayak hoist to lift my boat to the ceiling in the
garage. The one part I can't seem to find is a hand crank for the ropes
with a safety ratchet so the hoist can't accidentally fall to the floor.  I
got a small hand winch for that but it's a poor compromise ...

Hi y'all! I've given up my refusal to use GoogleGroups.com to access

One-Off Construction?21 Feb 2006 00:52 GMT2
Long time ago, I read what sounded like a comprehensive account of a couple's
construction of a one-off composite kayak.   Unfortunately, I didn't capture the
web pages and they seem to have been taken off the net.

Kayaking Anarctica--Map?20 Feb 2006 17:58 GMT2
Some group is kayaking in Anarctica to bring attention to some issue. A
friend of mine is trying to follow it, but can't find much of a map of the
area where the event is taking place.  Can anyone help with a map source
that's better than those found in conventional atlases?
BCU webshite20 Feb 2006 09:57 GMT1
I've been trying for over two weeks to access the Canoe England web site to
check out the classifieds (now they've pulled them from Canoe Focus) and I
haven't had a response to an email for over three weeks.
I rang the BCU last week to help them take my concerns seriously and they ...

I am a pretty experienced canoeist (I am in my early 40's and have been
canoe tripping since I was 7 years of age) and most of my experience has
been on lakes and tame white water.  I did the majority of my tripping in
Ontario (Algonquin, Temagami, Quetico, Kippawa in QC) and then ...
