I love to canoe, kayak, raft, etc.  I'm a student in a college class.
I have been assigned by my professor to ask all of you in this group

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with carbon fibre canoes?
I'm looking for a light weight tripping canoe to use on 3 - 10 day
wilderness trips through Algonquin Park.  Mostly flat water paddling with
lots of portages mixed in.

I'll be leaving So. Calif. towards the end of May and should arrive
in Alaska sometime around the end of June.  After spending about

Last Saturday I met up, by prearrangement, with Chris Kelly at the
Tellico River in Eastern Tennessee.  It was low but boatable, the
weather was great, and it is a beatiful river.

When we bought our house, it came with an Old Town canoe in the backyard.
We were told by our then tenants that it was owned by a previous tenant and
he was planning to come back for it.  It's been 4.5 years and it's still
