What are the best online Canoe and Kayak Stores?29 Mar 2007 12:48 GMT4
Please respond with whatever you consider to be the best online canoe /
kayak store(s).  Feel free to break it into two categories, one for canoes,
one for kayaks, if that's appropriate.
Also, in the camera world there are online stores that are great for buying
Replacement float bag valves?21 Mar 2007 20:09 GMT4
Any ideas where I might find plastic valves to replace those on float
bags? Mine are the twist type and they don't seat properly and leak.
Thanks.
Another kooky idea21 Mar 2007 14:53 GMT2
I have an 11ft plastic ww boat and want to make a new nose for it.
This I think would make it both faster and quieter -- for use on
flatwater -- and it shouldn't be so very difficult. Maybe add 2-3
feet. The gurgling from the rounded bow annoys me when I am trying to
Pool Rolling Session: Phila PA Area?20 Mar 2007 22:55 GMT2
Anybody know of any pre-season rolling sessions scheduled for in Southeastern
Pennsylvania or the tri-state area?

Speedometer20 Mar 2007 15:17 GMT17
I want to build a speedometer so that I can quickly evaluate a
borrowed boat. My GPS speed accuracy seems to be pretty lame. I was
thinking that something like a 12 inch diameter styrofoam paddlewheel
might work. I could maybe mount it on an arm with a suction cup or
Altering A Paddle's Offset?20 Mar 2007 02:07 GMT8
Somewhere (this NG?) I read an assertion that a FG paddle blade can be
loosened/moved by applying heat to where it's attached to the loom.
Jersey Paddler's PaddleSports 2007 is coming up and I want to shop for a
dedicated waveski paddle.
Weighting a paddle?18 Mar 2007 16:52 GMT10
I am considering how I might add weight to a paddle for endurance
building -- so I can wear myself out in a short period of paddling. A
tether becomes mandatory, unless maybe I can load foam noodle onto the
shaft, but I think wrist weights would be hot and very uncomfortable.
TR: Salt River (AZ) great pictures!15 Mar 2007 00:47 GMT1
My friends did this kayaking trip in the Sonoran desert,
and all I got was this lousy RBP post:

I had never seen pictures of the Salt with clear water!
PL's Thread of the Month is an rbp classic13 Mar 2007 15:37 GMT9
Hey, lookee here, a thread from back in the glory days of rbp is the
current pick on Paddling Life's "Thread of the month" selection:

T-SHIRTS TO CHANGE THE WORLD...
Hey, if you paddle a canoe/kayak to save the environment, it's time to
be proud of it. Show the selfish owners of big motorboats that you are
bigger than them.
Nous avons un KayakWiki francais!10 Mar 2007 11:04 GMT4
I have (finally!) got the new improved bilingual (French/English)
KayakWiki up and running. There are still a few kinks to work out, but
it's running reasonably well. It runs on a new server with the latest
versions of all Wiki and related software.
Wet or dry suit, or just skin?10 Mar 2007 02:33 GMT23
>From my previous posts regarding kayaking near Stockholm, Sweden, some
of you have suggested I may need to get a wet suit or a dry suit. What
are the tradeoffs of each? I suppose I could have done a google search
on the topic but thought I'd ask this group first.....
