Washing Dry Suit Seals: Rinse?25 Apr 2007 20:30 GMT4
Somebody's got me convinced that it's worth the time to wash my
dry suit's seals in a little warm soapy water after use (to
extend seal life by getting rid of sunscreen & body oils)
Does anybody else do this?

That'll put the access campaign back 20 years.  Of course, you all
know that
Day trip suggestions in South Florida19 Apr 2007 18:12 GMT3
Anyone have any suggestions for no more then one day sea kayaking trips in
South Florida. I plan on spending a week traveling around South Florida
exploring different ecosystems from the Everglades to the keys and possibly
go searching for some manatee. Anyone have suggestions for ...
Source of water temperature data?18 Apr 2007 15:06 GMT2
I'm interested in finding water temperature data for flatwater lakes,
rivers and streams.  Does anyone know of an online source?
Strawman: 45 Degrees Paddle Offset Is Optimal For Avoiding Wrist Tendonitis12 Apr 2007 19:30 GMT9
On Sunday, I heard a spiel from a major paddle maker's rep to the effect that
offsetting the paddle blades 45 degrees makes for the least wrist rotation:
namely none.
If I understood it correctly, the rationale was that if one's body is twisting
Gore-Tex patch kit?11 Apr 2007 13:36 GMT7
I was just thinking... what if you added a few Gore-Tex patches on the
sleeves of a conventional drytop? Or wouldn't it make sense for them
to make drytops with just the sleeves made of Gore-Tex?
Dry Top + John => Semi-Dry?10 Apr 2007 01:24 GMT2
I've got a dry top that has a fabric skirt which, I guess, is intended to
overlap the spray skirt on a decked boat.  viz: http://tinyurl.com/2txu9e
Also have a farmer john viz: http://tinyurl.com/3dhz9o
Don't have a decked boat, but I'd like the fabric skirt to help keep water out
Semi-OT: Seatbelt Backup Quick Release?07 Apr 2007 13:59 GMT8
I'm dabbling in wave-skiing.
The serious paddlers all wear seat belts as in
http://www.123scuba.com/p-WTWB52.html instead of
thigh straps to maintain their contact with the ski.
Hey everyone! Can you PLEASE help?07 Apr 2007 12:18 GMT31
My name is Elliott, and I am seeking the help of as many people as I
can get. I'm doing a school project at Boston University and we need
people to fill out a quick survey that will take about 3-4 minutes to
fill out regarding a new product for kayaks.
Rolling a sea-kayak with HIGH rear deck?05 Apr 2007 16:13 GMT22
I have a woodstrip racing sea kayak patterned after the Seda Glider.
It has a really high back deck (cockpit combing). I can't lean back
hardly at all in it. I've been trying to learn how to roll it. So far,
so shaky. I wish I could get my C of G lower as my torso comes out of
Aquaseal once opened?03 Apr 2007 19:36 GMT2
Had an opened tube of AquaSeal in the freezer for a month or six weeks
and found that maybe 1/5 of the tube had hardened. Is this typical? It
was quite a fight to get to the liquid portion. Is there any better
way to preserve an opened tube? Thanks.
