What useful stuff would you put into a waterproof box to take on the river? The only thing I've actually needed recently was duct tape although a first-aid kit and kevlar repair kit might be good. I've seen alcohol and a lighter used to dry a boat so the duct tape will stick.

Just bought a Hobie Revolution Kayak, 13', 58 lbs. Have a Mazda MPV with built in car rack. When we put the kayak on top and securely strap it down I was shocked by the vibration noise at speeds > 30 mph. Can't see any noticable vibration on the kayak when we're traveling.

I ordered a kit from PygmyBoats.com, and yesterday in the mail I recieved my Hull Identification Number. I'm wondering how other kit builders put on their HINs. Would a sharpie on the bare wood show through after expoxying and putting on the cloth and varnish? Or do you have a ...

I'm building a CLC Chesapeake 16LT from plans (my second project), and I'm as far as having the hull assembled with the copper stitching, but no epoxy yet. Before making everything permanent, I'm carefully aligning the plywood panels and snugging the copper. Mostly so far so

I'm repairing a massive delam problem on a fifteen-year-old CCL Patuxent. It delammed probably because I worked the epoxy too much during application, creating air bubbles.
